Chaos Erupts in IndiGo's Mumbai-Nagpur Flight Over Delay as Pilot's Shift Ended | VIDEO

Mumbai: Passengers created a ruckus in an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Nagpur. The Indigo Airlines flight was supposed to take off from Mumbai airport to Nagpur at 9.30 pm on July 1 but did not take off because the pilot's shift had ended.
In some videos from inside the flight obtained by Republic TV, a heated argument erupted between the passengers and the ground staff can be heard, in which the ground staff apologised for the delay and said that their pilot's shift was over and the other pilot would land at 1.30 am, after which the flight will take off from Mumbai to Nagpur at around 2.30 am.
Many passengers surrounding the ground staff are reacting angrily, passengers are asking why IndiGo did not inform them about this earlier.
One passenger talked about the absence of the operation manager and his accountability, while another passenger expressed disappointment over the inconvenience by asking a question to IndiGo employee, "Stop fooling us, we have been sitting in this flight for the last four hours and now you are telling us that your pilot can fly the flight only because her shift is over, your employees are laughing, they are making fun of us."
Meanwhile, one of the passengers sharing the ordeal in the video bite said, "We don't have any clarity we're still trying to understand what's actually wrong, what we have been told is that the crew's shift is over and hence this flight can't fly unless there's another pilot who comes and takes off this flight, they have not given us any information they have given some khichdi and water to pacify the passengers but doesn't seems like it's working most of the people are waiting for more than 4-5 hours now, we have children, women and senior citizens in the plane, it looks like that there will still Mayhem that will continue as we will have to deplane and go back to the terminal because we haven't seen any senior authority responding to us and seems like indigo is trying to cover it up."
A source informed "Indigo flight 6E -5123 was supposed to take off at 9:15 pm then was rescheduled for 11:15 pm, boarding started at 11:30 pm, and passengers were stranded inside till 12:30 am, later the crew announced the pilot had exceeded the shift timings she won't fly, later passengers were asked to deboard, however, passengers refused to deboard unless there is a clarity on next flight, later on, the flight took off around 3 am after the other pilot took over"
Flight 6E 5123, operating from Mumbai to Nagpur, on 01 July, was delayed due to ATC congestion at Mumbai airport, coupled with operational reasons.
